Cornelia, Ga. - Mrs. Maggie Louallen Payne, 81, of Cornelia, died Monday at Habersham County Hospital following an extended illness.
She was a native of Banks County, a daughter of the late Jess Louallen and Liza Mize Louallen. She was a member of the Lyon Baptist Church. (MY NOTE: I think this should be the LINE Baptist Church.) Her husband was the late Lige Payne.
Surviving are two sons, Jesse Payne of Baldwin, Elmer Payne of Cornelia; four daughters, Mrs. A. D. Williams Sr. of Cornelia, Mrs. Noble Smith and Mrs. Ralph Louallen, both of Baldwin, Mrs. A. J. Sears of Gastonia, NC; 43 grandchildren, 47 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the Lyon Baptist Church by the Revs. Pledger Dodd, Henry Logan and Rachel Lacey. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
