Perry Lewallen
Perry Lewallen was a soldier in Co. A of the 24th Regiment of Georgia. He enlisted in July of 1861 and served until 1865. His widow says, “He came home after the surrender April 1865, sick with bowel trouble which continued to grow worse until his death in 1885.” Rebecca made this statement on 17 JAN 1902.
In the widow’s application, Rebecca also states that she has lived in Georgia since her birth in 1827 and currently lives in Banks County. She states she married Perry in 1842. In an earlier application, dated 9 FEB 1900, she states her marriage year as 1850. She states year of Perry’s death as 1882.
