Diane, this information is absolutely fantastic.   I don't know where you found it all but every single bit is so helpful, at least to me.   I've been wondering if any of these people are connected to Shadrach and who Shad's parents were.   It's documented information such as this that will help us find out.

Thank you so much for posting it.

Diane Langston - Aug 23, 2009

Hi Billie. I've been wanting to research Loudoun Co, VA for a long time and finally had the opportunity to visit a fantastic genealogy library. My in-laws live in Macon, Georgia and we just got back from visiting them for a week.   I spent most of my time in Washington Memorial Library which has one of the best genealogical collections I've seen. Ironic that I live in Virginia, but went to Georgia to get the information! I have a distant cousin-in-law that claims that my Rockingham Co NC ancestors came from Botetourt Co., VA and before that from Loudoun Co. I've gathered enough information to believe the Botetourt Co. connection, but I'm still not sure about Loudoun Co.   Wondering if Shadrack and Thomas were kin or not. Has any of the DNA participants traced their family definately to Loudoun Co.?

Billie Harris - Aug 23, 2009

Unfortunately we haven't had anyone who can trace his line back to those from Loudoun to do a DNA yet.   We have a member on here and it sure seems his line goes back to Samuel Lewallen/Lewellyn who married as her second husband Hannah (maiden name unknown) Jones.   From what we have here on the site, they moved from Wilmington, Delaware to Loudoun, VA, then to Monongalia Co. WV.   They may have even lived in Pennsylvania for all we know yet.   But Samuel had children Phillip, Jacob, Benjamin, Thomas, David, Asa, Mary, Samuel and Doctor (documented.)   I've been wanting to work on tracing the line forward but haven't got around to it.   Now I can go through what you provided and see if there's anything more we can find out.   I'll incorporate what you and and what we already have together and post the information.   Take a look and see if you can come up with anything.
