Cornelia, Ga., June 17 - Walter B. Lewallen, 74, died at a local hospital yesterday following an extended illness.

Mr. Lewallen was born and reared in Banks County, but for the past ten years had made his home in Habersham County.

He was a son of the late Jesse Lewallen and Mrs. Liza Mize Lewallen.   He was married to the former Miss Harriet Farmer in 1899, who survives him.

Mr. Lewallen was a member of the Line Baptist Church.

In addition to his widow, he is survived by six sons, Banis Lewallen of Carnesville, Freeman Lewallen and Adger Lewallen, both of Baldwin; Carson Lewallen, Corbin, and Aaron Lewallen, all of Cornelia; two daughters, Mrs. Gordon Moore of Cornelia, and Mrs. Ed Arewood of Demorest; one brother, Noah Lewallen, also of Baldwin, and a sister, Mrs. Maggie Payne of Cornelia; also 27 grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday from the Line Baptist Church.   The Rev. John Carpenter and the Rev. E. E. Dooley will conduct the services.   Burial will be in the church cemetery.
