Billie Harris - Apr 16, 2011
It's important to look at this site if you're researching Robert Lewellyn of Taney County, Missouri. In 1850 he had a land grant there and the site shows a map of the location. There's also other information on here that's important in our research.

Billie,
Excellent job as usual! Under the Phelps County section, you may want to add Aaron LouAllen's Homestead land of 80 acres which he applied for on 9 August 1864 and received 16 March 1871. Thanks!
Darlene Luallen Griffin - Apr 16, 2011
My great grandfather Elihu Luallen is on the MO list. He lived on this land until his death in 1916.
Billie Harris - Apr 17, 2011
Thanks, Darlene. I'll make note of that on the Missouri summary page.
I notice Elihu's first wife was Mary Gentry. There's a wonderful site just chocked full of Gentry genealogical information. Don't know if you've seen it before but it may have some "clue" in it about Mary and Elihu - I haven't checked.
http://www.gentryjournal.org/index.htm#home
I have a Gentry in my early genealogy - the mid 1700's in Albemarle, Virginia, when my Randolph ancestor married Sarah Gentry. They moved from there to Tennessee. James Randolph died 1795 and Sarah remarried, using her maiden name, to a McGuirk. But many of the Gentrys moved at the same time as James and Sarah to Tennessee.
Darlene Luallen Griffin - Apr 17, 2011
Excuse me, I just checked my records, and Mary was just 14 when she married Elihu in 1867. Both her parents were dead and Elihu'a only living parent, his mother, had returned to Scott County, TN, where she remarried. Elihu was 19. Apparently Elihu lied about his age when he joined the Union forces. The enlistment papers that I downloaded last week indicate that he was 18 in 1864. He was really 16 (census and death records give his birth year as 1848). His enlistment papers were signed by a guardian. Thanks, Billie, your inquiries about the Gentrys made me look at all the dates. It might have been some time before I would have caught this.
