Pearl May Lewellen, of Crawfordsville, passed away at 10:25 a.m. Tuesday, April 13, 2010, in Williamsburg Health Care. She was 87.
Born Sept. 9, 1922 in Ladoga, she was the daughter of Homer David and Nellie Alice Rice Arnold. She married Winford Harold "Red" Lewellen on Nov. 26, 1945 in Crawfordsville. He died April 13, 1998.
Mrs. Lewellen attended Ladoga schools. She was a homemaker who liked to travel to Florida every winter with her husband.
Survivors include two daughters, Judy (Ed) Mills of Crawfordsville and Janet (Larry) White of New Ross, brother, Harry Arnold of Lafayette, eight grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Jo Arlene Kanatzer on Jan. 28, 1998, two brothers, Everett Arnold and David Arnold, two sisters, Martha Frances Willis and Betty Cronk Arnold, three half-brothers, Merle Arnold, Carl Arnold and Harold Arnold. Her half-sister, Opal Barton of Lebanon, preceded her in death on Tuesday morning.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Friday at Burkhart Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery South. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday.
