Zadock Lewellyn/ Luellen (War 1812, Iowa) and Henry Llewellyn

From more of the old papers I have here.   Note that Zadoc and Henry are found in the 1810 Federal Census for Amwell Township, Washington County, PA.   Also in that census is John, William, and Samuel.   In the West Bethlem Township of Washington County is Phillip Luellan.

- B.L. Wt. Rejected 179260-1855, from War of 1812
- Legal paper dated May 23, 1855 from State of Iowa, County of Page:
"Zadock Lewellen age 69a resident of Taylor County...Iowa...was a soldier in the Company commanded by Captain Lowery in the Regiment commanded by Colonel George Richardson in the war of 1812 & that he was drafted at the muster ground near Cambridge on or about the 20th day of August 1813 for the term of 6 months & continued in active service in said war for the term of 16 days & was honorably discharged at Zanesville Ohio on the 9th day of Sept. 1813 on account of his being lame as will appear by the muster rolls of said Company.   He makes this declaration for the purpose of obtaining the bounty land to which he may be entitled to under the act granting additional bounty land ....approved March 3, 1855....signed Zadock Luellen"   (photocopied note says "There are no rolls of Capt. Lowery's Co Ohio Mil."

"Zadoc Luellen File #FAC-156386, C.S.A., Natl Archives & Records Service:
- Paper dated 11-11-1870 in State of Iowa, Co. of Taylor, "....aforesaid Zadoc Luellen aged 83 yrs ... makes the following declaration in order to obtain the pension provided by the Acts of Congress granting pensions to dependent fathers, that he is the father of Zadock Luellen Jr....that the declarant was married to the mother of said son at Guernsey county on the 23rd day of April 1812 by Joseph Delray, a J.P...that the mother of said son is aforesaid Sarah Luellen died in the Co. of Page and State of Iowa on the 8th day of May 1855....that he has been for the last four years a county charge supported as a pauper by the Co. of Taylor...that he has no children who can support him...and that his post office address is Bedford, Taylor Co., Iowa."   signed by Zadock (his X mark) Luellen
