THE CLARION CLIPPER, Clarion, Iowa, Aug 25, 1910

Isaac Lewellyn Died Last Night
Another old and highly respected citizen of the county answered the final summons last night at the home of his daughter, Mrs John Powers, about five miles northwest of Clarion, and passed to his eternal reward. This was no less a person than Isaac Lewellyn, who has been a resident of Wright county since 1891.

Deceased was born in Virginia Oct 5, 1829, being at the time of his death almost 81 years of age. When a young man he came west and was married to Martha Tipton in Davis county, Iowa, fifty-four years ago. This union was blessed with eight children, four boys and four boys [sic]. Two of the sons died when quite young and the living children are: Mrs Ben Peppers of Ottumwa, Mrs P.A. Richardson, Lakeport, Cal., Mrs John Powers, Mrs Chas Snyder, George and Bert Lewellyn--the later four living in this county.
Mr Lewellyn's death was due to the infirmities of old age. He had been quite feeble for some time, but up to a couple days ago was able to be up and around. On Tuesday he was taken worse rather suddenly and despite all possible aid passed away at the hour above stated.
He was the father of a stalwart and worthy family of boys and girls and the world is enriched to that extent for he and his estimable wife having lived in it.
Tomorrow (Friday) afternoon funeral services will be held at the Powers home at 1:30 o'clock and will be conducted by a Methodist minister from Mt Vernon. The relatives and friends will then accompany the mortal remains to Clarion Evergreen cemetery, where they will be laid to rest.
The bereaved relatives have the sympathy of numerous friends in this, one of the greatest sorrows that can come into their lives.
