Son of Aaron and Sally (Young) Lewallen ?

Is it possible Aaron and Sally (Young) Lewallen had a son named John?

John was born 1826 Tennessee.   He married Mary Ann Hamilton who was born 1830   Tennessee (I've seen different counties where she was born, including Davidson) .   John and Mary had a son named Daniel Young Lewallen who married Mary Elizabeth Kyle.   John died 1856/7 in Pope County, Arkansas.

Or has this been discussed before?

I am no expert on Aaron and Sallie Young Lewallen but have spent a lot of time researching this family and I found no evidence of a son named John.   However,   we have a list of 8 children as provided by a descendant of Thomas Marion Lewallen, Sallie's youngest son.   There are 2 sons, William and one called Jack, who we know nothing about.   Aaron and Sallie married in 1819 in Williamson County, Tennessee but are not found on the 1820 Tennessee census, so apparently they were living in the household of someone else.   By 1830 they are found living in Maury County, Tennessee.   There are 2 males under 5, 1 male 5-10, Aaron himself is in the 30-40 age bracket; 1 female 5-10, Sallie is 20-30.   Their son, Joseph is probably one of the 2 males under 5, the other 2 males would be William and Jack, with the 5-10 year old female being their daughter,   Mary "Polly".   By 1840, Sallie is living in Giles County, Tennessee with the children;   there are only 2 males in her household by now, one 10-16, the other one is 16-20.   One of these males is Joseph.   We know almost nothing of Sallie Young's family.   An Isham Young did serve in the War of 1812 with Aaron Lewallen and Isham Young married Elizabeth Luallen in Williamson County, Tennessee in 1818.   Daniel A. Young signed the marriage bond when Isham Young married Elizabeth.   It could be possible that John   was in fact, John William?   or maybe Jack was a nickname for John?   We just found no evidence of this in our search.   Hope this helps.   I am always interested in any new developments in the search for Aaron Lewallen and his family.

What do you mean you're no "expert" on Aaron and Sallie Young Lewallen?   Of all people you and Jay are THE experts.

I had forgotten about Jack but I do know one of the nicknames for John was/is Jack, at least in my husband's family.   Incidentally, it may not mean a single thing, but John's middle initial was A. and I know we've mentioned before that none of Aaron's children were named after him.   Could the "A" have stood for Aaron?   Probably not, but just something that crossed my mind.
