Elsia Hughett Jones, 67, of the John Hall Flats community, passed away suddenly Saturday morning, December 20, 1986, at her home. Mrs. Jones was the daughter of the late William Freeman Hughett and the late Eva Phillips Hughett and was also preceded in death by one daughter, Peggy Louise Stidham; and one brother, Rothwell Howard Harrington. She was a member of the Slick Rock Baptist Church for many years. She is survived by her husband, Ira Warren Jones of the John Hall Flats community; two daughters: Mary Bolan of Douglasville, Ga., and Ann Luffman of Harriman; four sons: Loy Jones of Marietta, Ga., Larry Jones of Nortonville, Ky., Darrell Jones of the John Hall Flats community, and Oby Jones of Douglasville, Ga.; two sisters: Dorothy Gaw of Louisville, Ky., and Evaline Hardy of Powder Springs, Ga.; seven brothers: Walter Hughett of Guam, Wolford Hughett of Centralia, Ill., Thomas Hughett of Harriman, Edgar Hughett of Hamilton, O., Billy Joe Hughett of Indianapolis, Ind., Claude Dow Hughett of Knoxville, and Sherman Hughett of Powell; eleven grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and many other relatives and friends. Funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday, December 23 at the West-Murley Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Chuck Duncan and Rev. Carl Jeffers officiating. Burial was in the Hazel Valley Cemetery. Pallbearers were: Allan Bledsoe, Howard K. Bledsoe, Elbert Day, Alonzo Jones, Pete Troxel, and Clarence White.
