Jean Marie Fair Lewallen, 94, of Chattanooga, passed away on Friday May 2, 2008, at a local nursing facility.
Mrs. Lewallen was born in Dayton, Ohio, and was a member of Brainerd United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Homer Lewallen; sisters, Muriel Turner and Edwina Volkenand; and brother, Dale Fair.
Surviving are her children, Richard (Carol) Lewallen, of Signal Mountain, and Nancy (Guy) Douglas, of Tucker, Ga.; grandchildren, Cathy (Mike) Petrowski, of Grayson, Ga., Lisa (William Jere II) Allen, of Peachtree Corners, Ga., Ann-Elise Lewallen, of Sapporo, Japan, Kelly (Doug) Railey, of Trion, Ga., and Richard A. Lewallen II, of Blowing Rock, N.C.; great-grandchildren, William J. Allen III, Caroline Petrowski and Ashton Railey.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. CDT Monday at Big Lick Cemetery in Crossville, Tenn.

Samuel M. Lewallen   Jonesboro Sun, The

NEWPORT -- Samuel M. Lewallen Sr., 84, of Newport died Sunday at Searcy.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Eloise Burnside Lewallen, and brother, Charles Ova Lewallen Jr.

Survivors include his sons, Samuel M. Lewallen Jr. and wife, Karen, of Martin, Tenn., and Larry Lewallen of Newport; grandchildren, Kellie Birdsong, Jeremy Lewallen, Jason Lewallen and Zachary Lewallen; and four great-grandchildren.

Services are at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Jackson's Newport Funeral Home chapel with interment in Walnut Grove Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. today.
