Hello all,   I am looking for a connection from my ancestor, John Lewellen, b 1760 in VA d 1827 in Preble Co, OH to the Samuel Lewellen family who operated the ferry over the Cheat river in Monongalia Co, VA (now WV), very near the PA/VA border.

As I researched the family of John's wife, Catherine Duvall, I discovered that her parents owned land close to the Cheat river.   Their land is now in PA, but it went back and forth for years as the state line between VA and PA was disputed.

John served in the Rev. War in a PA regiment;   his first two children were born in PA.   The family then moved to KY and finally to OH.

Samuel Lewellen and his wife had 8 sons.   My John is a few years younger than Doctor, the youngest son.   Given the geography, it seems very likely that John is a grandson of Samuel.

I understand that we have dna from a descendent of John.   Are there any male Lewellens descended from Samuel who could have their dna checked?   Or does anyone have records of the children of Samuel's sons?

Thanks for any help!
