The Wayne County, KY 1830 census lists as heads of household Jessee Lewallen, Mathew Lewallen, and Henry Lewallen. Does anyone know who these men are and how they fit in with the Scott County Lewallens? My notes say that Jessee & sons Mathew & Henry moved their families to TN in 1831 and that they were delinquent in paying taxes in Wayne County. Unfortunately, I did not document where I found that info. My Matthew Lewallen would have been too young to be this Mathew.

Wayne County KY borders Scott County, TN.. Scott County wasn't formed till 1849, several years after the census you mentioned. It was formed from Fentress, Morgan and Anderson counties. I wonder if these fellows might have been sons of Anderson Lewallen who died 1832 in Morgan County.

I don't know, Billie. Worth looking into. Mathew & Henry were sons of Jessee. According to the Morgan County, TN Land Survey Book A & B, 1824-1836, Anderson, Jessee, Andrew and Mathew Lewallen all had land transactions with each other. Walter Davis was involved in some of these transactions. If you remember, Davis was a name that matched with my cousin's DNA. Malinda Davis was married to Andrew Lewallen.
