Margaret Ellis age 81, of Elgin departed this life on Friday, March 23, 2012 at Kindred Hospital in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Born March 16, 1931 in Scott County to Jake and Barbara Hawn Massey. She was a member of the Rugby Road Methodist Church. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Bobby W. Ellis Sr.; two sisters Joann Walker and Ruth Byerly; three brothers Fenton, J. E and Hugh Massey; and special aunt Bessie Hawn.
She is survived by her four sons Bobby and Susan; Bill and Gracie; David and Elaine, Mike and Joyce; granddaughters Jessica Byrd and husband Trent, Savanna Ellis and Lindsey Foster; grandsons Adam Ellis and wife Charity, Alex Ellis, William Ellis and fiancé Tequila, David Ellis Jr., Eric Ellis and Warren Foster; great-grandchildren Madison, Kaleb, Logan and Farrah Ellis, Reiley King. She also leaves many other relatives and friends.
Friends may visit with the Ellis family on Sunday, March 25, 2012 from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. in the chapel of West-Murley Funeral Home. Funeral service will be on Monday, March 26, 2012 at 12:00 (noon) in the Chapel of West-Murley Funeral Home with Brother David Ellis Jr. and Rev. John Slater officiating. Interment will follow in the Hawn Shoemaker Cemetery. Music will be provided by Jimmy and Sarah Byrd. Pall bearers will be Adam Ellis, William Ellis, Eric Ellis Trent Byrd, Jerry Lynch and Ronald Bowling.
