Her grandfather was Thomas Jefferson Lewelling, born 1856, Tuscaloosa, Alabama. He died in Wewoka, Oklahoma in 1926.
Her great grandfather was William M Lewelling, born 1812, Tennessee. He died aft 1880 in Arkansas.
Her great grandmother was Rachael Minerva GREEN Lewelling, born 1820, Tuscaloosa, Alabama. She also died in Arkansas after 1900.
She has a brother who has agreed to do a DNA so it should help us in finding which line her family belongs to.

Incidentally, I just found Rachiel F. Lewelling living in Crawford County, Arkansas 1900 with her daughter Margaret Kirk and Margaret's husband, William R. Kirk and their family.
William L. M. Lewellen, Rachel Minerva and their family lived in Fayette County Alabama 1860 and in 1850 in Tuscaloosa county, Alabama. I believe they're in the 1840 Itawamba County, Mississippi census but does anyone know which line this family connects with?
Bonnie, you might try looking at this site. I know neither of us think Alexander is William's father, but it won't hurt to look at Sevier County and see what you think.
