I know this is an old question but I found a website that might answer the question.
on google look up type Worldconnect project York's Fentess County Tennessee.
Go to the index and click Davis there are over 2200 so it takes a while to go there.
The fastest way to get to Joseph Davis 1752 is to click on his grandson Daniel Boone Davis 1825 who is married to Margaret Alice Lyons (where the Lyons come into the picture) click on his father Walter Watt Davis, then click on his father Joseph Davis, you will find four brothers for Malinda Elizabeth Davis 1792. I found on the Walter Watt Davis page he has a gap in the birth of his kids between 1818 and 1825, just a thought since Matthew Lewallen was born 1821. Hope this makes sense for the instructions.
I don't agree with all the information here. The Luvina listed is the wife of Martin Lewallen, but it has sibling for Malinda and may give a direction to search.
