Thanks, Dorothy.   I loved them so much and spent a lot of time with them as a child.   In fact, I was born at their house way up in the woods at Delight (Pike County).   They're the ones who took me to church with them all the time so they gave me what Christian upbringing I got; often we'd walk to town but other times, especially when there were meetings at night, my grandfather would hitch the horse(s) up to the wagon and we'd go that way.   I have some really great memories of those days, including riding in the horse pulled sled when he'd go in the woods to cut trees, riding on the tow sack when they were picking cotton.

At one time when my grandfather couldn't find work, they were going to move to Bell County, Texas, where some of his uncles and aunts had remained but then my grandmother's dad gave them, and each of my grandmother's sisters, acres of property to stay so they did.   Both are buried in Delight.

It is wonderful that you have such fond memories of them and you were blessed to have had them in your life.

All of my grandparents were gone except my mother's mother, when I was born, she lived with us. I have a few memories of her, but I was quite young and she was sick.

I wish I could have had the opportunity to know all my grandparents.

My parents were 36 and 49 when I was born, so all my siblings were grown too, 16, 18, 19 and 20 years old when I was born. I had a brother die young, but he would have been 14 years older than me if he had died.

Children miss a lot when they dont have Grandparents

Yes, Margery, they do miss a lot.   I wish I had got to know my other grandmother before she died.   All I know about her is what people have told me.   I don't even have a photo of her because, from what I understand, all the photos were burned when one of her son's houses caught fire.
