Daughter of John Lewallen & Delilah Reed Lewallen.
Nancy died in Oklahoma, days after giving birth to her son, Harmon Burke. The cemetery in which she was buried is now covered by Canadian Reservoir.

In Memory of Nancy Lewallen Burke
Nancy Lewallen was born to John and Delilah Reed Lewallen on February 28-1845. Her father was the first sheriff of Scott Co., TN in 1850. Nancy married Haden Burke, son of Jonathan and Nancy Cooper burke about 1862, and lived on No Business Creek. She was the mother of Mrs. Allen (Laverna) Reed; Lewis; John; Isaac; peter; Will; Mrs. Bob (Loueller) Roberts; and Hermon.
The family moved to Oklahoma about the year 1878 and lived in the Canadian Indian Territory when Nancy passed away on February 20, 1879, eight days short of her thirty-fourth birthday and was buried in McAlestor, Okla. near the present site of Lake Eufaula. After her death the family returned to Tennessee, Scott County where many of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren yet reside.
We, her grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren wish to honor the memory of Nancy Lewallen Burke, who has been gone from us one hundred and one years on February 20, 1980.
