I have in my notes that Zachariah married Nancy Robbins about 1838 in Morgan Co., TN.
I have this newspaper clipping with this same picture of James M. Lewallen telling of his death at the age of 97 on May 16th, 1946. He was a resident of Shep, TX for 67 years. James died just a day after his brother, Amos Lewallen. James was buried in the Bluff Creek Cemetery. James M. Lewallen had a daughter, Mattie Simpson who also lived in the Shep area. I grew up living near the home of Joe & Mattie simpson and knew them very well.
In a newspaper article telling about Mattie"s 98th birthday, she recalled in her early days she walked 3 or 4 miles to the Spring Creek School where she attended school.
She carried her lunch in a syrup bucket like the other children.

Zachariah Lewallen married Nancy McDonald daughter of James McDonald the Revolutionary War Soldier. My great grandfather was Amos Lewallen. Thanks for the additional history.

Thank you Renee. The person that sent me info on zachariah one time was wrong. I will correct my material. I am going to the Bluff Creek Cemetery where they are buried and make a picture of the headstones. I believe Amos Lewallen is buried in the Shep Cemetery. thank you again, Melba
