Description: John Edward Lewallen leased a farm in Runnels, County near Winters Texas. This was taken about 1924 the boy is his son Edward Lewallen 01-02-1916-09-21-1999 in the back ground my grand father John Edward Lewallen 01-22-1897-12-22-1992 and his daughter Alta 02-27-1914-10-16-2005

Renee, how does your grandfather John Edward Lewallen connect to the other Lewellen famillies that lived in Taylor Co.? My great grandfather was John Lewellen, He lived and farmed in Shep, Taylor Co. TX.

His father was Amos Lewallen 1859 Scott County, Tennessee 1946 Shep Cemetery Texas and his father was Zachariah Lewallen 1822 Tennessee 1910 Taylor County Texas and his mother Nancy McDonald 1818-1896 Bluff Creek Cemetery Shep Texas daughter of James McDonald 1758. I had and so do most people have Joel Lewallen as Zachariah's father I am still not 100 percent sure that is true. The other possibility might be Andrew Lewallen 1809 Joel's brother. Andrew's wife was Malinda Davis and Zachariah's middle name was Davis. Maybe just one of those things. I had hoped with the free Texas Death Certificates I could find Zachariah's father listed. But it is not one of the free ones on the family search pilot project. Thanks. Renee
