Is this the John Lewallen that was the first sheriff of Scott Co. Tn.?

Venita Gaston - May 2, 2009

Yes, Resa it is.   He was my great grandfather, my grandmother was Tennessee Lewellen, daughter of sheriff John and Emely Reed McDonald Lewellen.   She was one of the youngest and 35 years younger than Isaac.   Quite a difference in ages for a brother and sister, huh.

He was my ggggrandfather, thru Campbell C Lewallen, I guess Campbell was one of his older children.   He and Millie were probably having children the same time his dad was.   When did they move to Texas?   What made them decide to move?   Did any of his brothers or sister move there too?   Does anyone know where Delilah is buried?   Did he just have the 2 girls with Emely?   Sorry to be so curious.
Thanks,
Resa
It's nice that you have those momentos, lot's of people would have just thrown them away. (the crutch and cane)
