Andrew Russell Lewallen Home

Dorothy, do you know about when this was?
Boy, compared to the old dog trot one-story houses my ancestors had, this one looks BIG. I remember my grandparents' old home where I was born - as were my mother and her siblings - it sat up high off the ground and sometimes the old chickens would lay their eggs under it. And the dogs always went under it when there was an electrical storm.

I may come across a date somewhere, sometime, will keep my eyes open for it. He died in 1896 and looks like before that, since he is sitting in a chair on the porch, he looks pretty old here.
I have close ups of them in those chairs some place, may have date on them. Think they are same time period.
They had 4 big porches and the two in front seem to be full, wonder who is on the back porches. It has the names for the ones in front anyway.
He was a lawyer and a very busy man, so guess he made good money. He seemed to live a very busy life. Sure was fancy for that time period.

Where was this house located? Nydeck?
Billie Harris - Oct 18, 2011
Mike, I was hoping someone else could answer this and my apologies for it taking so long for anyone to answer. More than likely it's in Scott or Morgan County, Tennessee. I believe Nydeck is in Morgan, isn't it?
