Roy N. Lewellen, 70, of Lake Belton died Saturday in a Temple Hospital. Visitation will be from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Monday Feb. 4, 2008 at Scanio Harper Funeral Home. A private full military honor graveside service will be held for the family at Little Flock Cemetery with Reverend Joe Broadway officiating.

Mr. Lewellen was born, January 15, 1938, in Temple to Roy F. Lewellen and Thelma Haley Lewellen. He lived in the Temple, Lake Belton area all of his life and graduated from Temple High School in 1956. He served in the U.S. Air Force for five years, having played in the Air Force Band. He married Judy Ritter June 21, 1958 and together they owned and operated Lewellen Office Supply for seventeen years. He was a member of Heights Baptist Church, the local Texas Selective Service Board, Elks Lodge #138 and VFW Post #1820.

Survivors include his wife Judy Lewellen of Lake Belton; three daughters Cheryl Howard of Troy, Susanne Wilkinson of Houston, Julie Martinez of Waco; one son Jeff Lewellen of Waco and seven grandchildren.

Dorothy, do we know when the Lewellens settled in Bell County, around Temple?   The reason I ask is because descendants of Wiley also settled in Bell County around Temple.
