Who were his ancestors? He has a nice looking family.

I have hit a barrier on Thomas Marion Lewallen's ancestors and would love some counsel.   An old family bible states that Thomas' father was Dave, another source suggests David Daniel and more recently a source suggested an Aaron Lewallen, who married a Sarah at about the right time.   Do you have a David Daniel or Aaron Lewallen in your line that might fit?

I believe this is the same family. See attachment:

Dorothy, that's fantastic, and thanks.   Ironically, Jay and I are in the process of e-mailing each other and working on this line again this week.   We could use all the help we could get.   I'm not so sure David was Thomas' father though.   I'll piece together what there is an maybe someone can give us thoughts and maybe help.

Do you know who the George is that posted that information, Jay?   If not, he can be invited to join us and help work on this family genealogy.

Apparently David or Dave was Thomas Marion's father's name but since I can find him in no census record for Tennessee, then it may have been a first or second name he went by and census records gave the other name.   I'll see if I can get in touch with George.   Thanks again.

I run into that a lot. They used middle names a lot and initials too, Then on the wives and children, they used the initials of the husband or the parents initials, sure makes it fun for us trying to find our ancestors.

Billie, since George is the one who created the site, he may not be the one that added the info. The the ones who create the site usually go out to the cemeteries and gather the info and sometimes take photos of the stone and create the site. They may not be related in any way at all.

Someone else may have added the info here, and not even have their name listed. If George is not the one who added the info, then maybe Jay can add a flower which will show his Lewallen name (there is a place there to click if you want to leave your name or not) and then maybe the person will contact him. Jay might want to even leave a note on the site him self.

Some site creators will aslo go out and take photos of a requested headstone.

The Guy Beatty that left a memorial may also be the one who left the info. Might also contact him.

Looks like Thomas was a Mason. Another lead. I know Mason's a sort of hush hush. My oldest brother is a 33 rd Degree. That is the highest Degree. Most people just reach 32nd Degree. I also have another brother that is a Mason, but he has never been as active as the older one.

Thanks, Dorothy.   Guy replied to my e-mail and I'm waiting to hear back from him now.   Will post what he tells me, but he isn't related to Thomas.
