Dorothy Campbell - Aug 9, 2013

I was very saddened today when I accidentally discovered on Find A Grave, a friend and cousin I had only known on the Internet. She and I met a good many years ago through our Lewallen genealogy. We had become good friends over the many years. She passed away this past March.

Venita was a member on this site.

I'm sorry to hear about her passing.

Had I known she lived in San Angelo, I would have mentioned to her that there's another Lewallen living in that city.   Or at least he used to.   One woman I became very close to years ago was Gladys Lewallen.   She was a china painting artist, quite well known at the time and took many awards for her work.   I have two of her plates plus a couple other items which I treasure.   Her husband was Harold Lewallen and he was my grandfather's first cousin, descending through Wiley and Mary Lewallen.   They had just one son who was also quite an artist although in a different medium than Gladys.   I believe the son's name is Glen.

At any rate, I'm really sorry to hear of Venita's passing.   She was a beautiful woman.
